Undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley of Palm Springs, CA, is ready for a little home cooking when he makes his first homecoming title defense, against former World Lightweight Champion Nate "The Galaxxy Warrior" Campbell, at The Show at Agua Caliente Resort, Casino and Spa in nearby Rancho Mirage, this Saturday, August 1.
The fight will be broadcast live on Showtime Championship Boxing, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the West Coast.
Bradley (24-0, 11 KOs), captured the World Boxing Council super lightweight title in Great Britain, dethroning defending champion Junior Witter of England on May 10, 2008.
After defeating Edner Cherry last September in his first title defense, Bradley unified the title with a decisive victory over WBO champion Kendall Holt on April 4.
Campbell (33-5-1, 25 KOs), from Jacksonville, FL, captured the IBF, WBA and WBO lightweight titles by winning a thrilling decision over the undefeated reigning world champion Juan Diaz on March 8, 2008. He enters this fight riding a three-year winning streak.
Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and Thompson Boxing Promotions, in associations with Don King Productions and Hennessy Sports, the Showtime broadcast will open with Junior Witter and undefeated Devon Alexander of St. Louis battling for the vacant WBC super lightweight title.
