Ten-time world champion in six weight divisions, Oscar de La Hoya, and basketball star Shaquille O' Neal faced off last night in a five-round, heavy-hitting boxing exhibition before a star-studded crowd at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, NV.
The instance was the latest installment of "Shaq VS," the new competition series starring NBA superstar Shaquille O' Neal, which aired Tuesday, September 8 at 9:00 p.m. PT on the ABC Television Network.
Leading up to the challenge, Shaq ,who coined himself "Manny Shaqquiao" for the boxing exhibition , got boxing tips and was coached by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach while Oscar "The Golden Boy" de L Hoya was trained by Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins for the highly anticipated match-up between speed and power.
After undergoing rigorous training, it was amazing to see what happeed when O'Neal, who stands at an overbearing 7'1" and weighs 320 pounds, got in the ring with De La Hoya's stealthy 5'10"and 160 pound frame for this electrifying bout.
