Both WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler and his opponent Gusmyr Perdomo weighed in at 167 pounds at today’s weigh-in in Denmark.
Danish national hero Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs) will defend his WBA super middleweight title against mandatory challenger Perdomo (16-2, 10 KOs ) on Saturday night before participating in the hotly-anticipated Super Six World Boxing Classic.
Saturday’s special primetime edition of ShoBox: The New Generation, on Showtime, will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT (same day tape delay).
Saturday night’s fight will take place at the MCH Messecenter Herning, in Herning, Denmark, with the 33-year-old challenger Perdomo the No. 1 ranked WBA mandatory challenger for Kessler.
Kessler is set to take on Andre Ward, whose Saturday night fight against Shelby Pudwill will also be aired on ShoBox following Kessler’s fight, in the first round of the Super Six World Boxing Classic Nov. 21.
