Undefeated super middle Andre Ward and opponent Shelby Pudwill weighed 171.2 and 170.5 pounds, respectively, for their important 10 round fight in the second half of a fistic doubleheader on a special Saturday primetime edition of ShoBox: The New Generation tomorrow, Sept. 12, on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/PT, delayed on the west coast.
In the opening bout on Showtime, Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs), of Copenhagen, Denmark, will defend his WBA super middleweight title against No. 1-ranked Gusmyr Perdomo (16-2, 10 KOs) of Turmero, Venezuela.
The scheduled 12-rounder will air on same day tape delay from MCH Messecenter Herning in Herning, Denmark.
Ward and Kessler will meet in the first round of the highly anticipated, potentially game-changing Super Six World Boxing Classic on Nov. 21.
The Ward-Pudwill 10-round match will emanate from Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif.
The only boxer to twice defeat future Hall of Famer Roy Jones, Jr., popular former undisputed light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver, will join the Showtime announcer team of in Al Bernstein and Steve Farhood as a guest commentator for the split-site doubleheader.
