Monday September 14th marked the second meeting of the much anticipated formation of the Boxing Promoters Association (BPA).
Progress continued to be made in this historic venture, as once again close to thirty of the United States top promoters met together at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
After an all-day meeting, the promoters established and elected a Board of Directors, three Officers, as well as created eight working committees that will report recommendations to the Association.
The Association's board of directors was voted on by all the members in attendance. After the voting was tallied, it was determined that the Board would be made up of Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing, Lou DiBella of DiBella Entertainment, Art Pelullo of Banner Promotions, Jimmy Burchfield of Classic Entertainment and Sports, and Don Chargin of Don Chargin Productions.
The Officers elected by the membership were:
Joe DeGuardia, Star Boxing - President
Lisa Elovich, Pugnacious Promotions - Secretary
John Wirt, Square Ring Promotions -Treasurer
The next full meeting of the Association is scheduled for December 7th. Additional information to follow.
