World ranked featherweight Matt “Remillard declared himself “more than ready” for his ten round NABF Title bout against undefeated Dominican Rafael Lora as he met the local media and fans at an open workout on Monday afternoon at the Lion’s Den Gym in Middletown, Connecticut.
Going through a full workout with trainer Paul Cichon, the 23 year old Hartford native is in excellent shape for his return to the New England area in the main event of "A Warrior's Homecoming" set for this Saturday night, September 19 at Nomads Adventure Quest.
The bill is presented by Chet Koerner’s TKO Boxing Promotions. Said Koerner, “Matt looked terrific in his open workout. We’ve had a great response from the local media and fans and are very excited about promoting our first show in the Hartford area.”
The 23 year old Remillard, 18-0-0 (10KO’s), will be making his first local New England appearance this year, having scored huge knockout wins in Reno and Baltimore earlier this year, a first round stoppage of Tyler Ziolkowski on July 10th and a third round halting of Jesus Perez on April 2nd.
Also 23 years old, Lora, now living in Irvington, New Jersey, made his North American debut on August 1st taking a six round decision over Carlos Diaz in an action packed war that had the huge crowd at the Sovereign Bank Baseball Stadium in York , Pennsylvania cheering every punch. The win improved his record to 11-0-0 (5KO’s).
