After fifteen successful title defenses, and a seven-year-reign of terror as the WBC bantamweight champion, Veeraphol Sahaprom ( 47-2-2- with 33 Ko's) was finally dethroned last night by little known Hozumi Hasegawa. The Thai champion lost a unanimous decision to Hasegawa by scores of 115-113 (twice) and 116 112.
It is a famous win for the unheralded Japanese fighter, but perhaps he can begin a new era of dominance in his tenure as the champion. If he can, you will hear about it on SaddoBoxing.com
