Former IBF light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson is in training camp for his rematch with IBO and Interim WBC titlist Chad Dawson and the Miami resident couldn't be more confident.
The pair face off at the XL Center in Hartford, CT on November 7 following Dawson's hard fought unanimous decision victory in April, 2008.
“I am in tremendous shape. I am taking this as serious as anyone can take a fight," said Johnson.
"This is a moment for me to go out there and define my career. I am three months into my training camp and have another four weeks to go. I feel comfortable training at home. There is no place like home.
"When it comes down to conditioning I take it very seriously. I always go into the ring well-conditioned. Energy has never been a question when I go in there and when I do my work.
"I feel I am well-conditioned, have the better skills and experience and I am smarter. I am very comfortable with what I am doing for this rematch.”
Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, in association with Seminole Warriors Boxing and DiBella Entertainment, remaining tickets to Dawson-Johnson II, priced at $200, $100, $70, $50, and $35 (plus applicable fees and surcharges) can be purchased at the XL Center box office, at all Ticketmaster outlets, through Ticketmaster Charge-By-Phone at 1-800-745-3000 and online at www.xlcenter.com
