Two-time World Champion Chad Dawson and the two-time NCAA National Champion UConn Huskies Men’s Basketball team know a few things about winning titles.
On Tuesday, Dawson and the Huskies will find themselves on the same basketball floor, sharing their winning philosophies as they prepare for their upcoming showdowns in the XL Center.
Dawson, of New Haven , CT , will be a special guest at the Huskies’ practice at the XL Center, starting at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
The Huskies will kick off their 2009-2010 season at the XL Center on Wednesday night, November 4, when they take on American International College.
The undefeated Dawson (28-0) will close an active sports week in the XL Center when he takes on former World Champion Glen Johnson on Saturday, November 7, in a highly-anticipated rematch for the World Light Heavyweight Championship.
The Dawson vs. Johnson 2 fight will be broadcast live, on HBO. The fight card starts at 6:00 PM.
According to Dawson, he’s anxious to visit with Coach Jim Calhoun and his players, a group he has learned a lot about winning from.
“I’m a long time UConn basketball fan - Men’s and Women’s,” said the 27 year old Dawson . “Around here, it’s about winning titles and we share that philosophy. I’m looking forward to meeting with Coach Calhoun and his Husky players.”
