It will be British champ Brian Magee that replaces Dimitri Sartison as co-challenger for Mads Larsen for the vacant European title.

The EBU have set November 24 as deadline for purse bids or agreements. One can imagine that Palm Promotion will work hard to get Magee and his people to accept Janaury 16 in Aarhus as date and site as this was all set for Larsen vs Sartison when Dimitri pulled out to go for the WBA "standard" title.

French super middle Jean Paul Mendy, 26-0-1, a still undefeated veteran with ten years as a pro, face British spoiler Matthew Barr November 6 in Toulon. In the main event Jeremy Parodi defends the IBF Youth super bantam title against Colombian Alexander Monterrose.

The Swedish Federation celebrates its 90th anniversary during 2009 and there´s a special boxing cruise on a ferry leaving Stockholm November 13.

November 14 the ship is in Helsinki where a Sweden-Finland national will go ahead with two pro fights on top of the bill. At light heavy Petter Antman from Finland face Swede Stefan Schallengruber and at junior welter Patrick Bogere, Sweden, is in against Marko Nieminen, Finland. Promoter on record is P 3 Boxing and Pekka Maeki.

Lightweights Muzaffer Tosun and Johnny Ibramov clash for the vacant GBU title November 15 in Berlin on a show promoted by Ralf Reiser. Tozun has been around the Berlin fight scene for years now taking on all comers.

Russian heavies Arthur Marabyan and Maxim Maslov clash for the vacant EE-EU title December 19 in St Petersburg. This title is affiliated to the EBU and open to all fighters from countries outside of the EBU.
