Arena Boxing Re-signs Odlanier Solis To Three Year Contract

“Ahmet Öner and Arena have led me to position #3 in the WBC ratings. I am very happy with our collaboration and I’m looking forward to another three successful years”, said heavyweight sensation Odlanier Solis after renewing his promotional contract with ARENA for another three years. The three time world amateur champion and 2004 Olympic gold medallist is on the fast track to a world title fight.

“We have big plans for the next years and Solis plays a major role in these plans. He is the future of heavyweight boxing”, states Arena CEO Ahmet Öner. “He is the only heavyweight today who can be a real thread to either of the Klitschkos.

"I hope that he will get the chance to get his hands on the brothers. Except Vitali and Wladimir there is no one in the division who is nearly his calss. Solis will be the dominating force in the next decade and I am glad that we will go this way with him.”

“I want to win the world title for Arena”, adds Solis. “I turned pro to prove that I am the best boxer in the world. That is what I left my home country for. I know that I can beat any opponent in the world but I also know that a boxer needs a strong promoter to make it to the top. I am happy and proud to have the best possible promoter in my corner.”

Most probably Solis will return to the ring in February 2010. “We need to get him the right opponents to push him into the mandatory position”, says Öner. “None of the world champions will face him voluntarily but very soon there will be no way to avoid fighting him.”
