Britain's amateur lightweight sensation Amir Khan is set to avenge the Olympic defeat he suffered at the hands of gold medallist Mario Kindelan. The fight is set to happen on May 14 in England at the Reebok stadium in Bolton, England; Khan's hometown. The fight is happening because of the behind the scenes negotiations on the part of British promoter Frank Warren who appears set to promote Khan's impending professional career that may happen later this year. Khan was the sole British representative in last year's Olympic games, taking home the silver medal after losing to Kindelan. A funding crisis in England's amateur ranks perhaps assumes the bulk of the responsibility for Khan's disillusionment with the amateur game and his decision to turn professional.
We will keep you up to date with the developments in this story as they happen.
