Mark your calendars for July 23, that’s when you will want to tune in to Showtime’s ShoBox. That’s when WBC Super Lightweight Continental Americas Champion Donald Camarena (15-1-9ko’s) takes on WBC and WBA #10 rated fighter Antonio Pitalua (39-3- 33 ko’s). Promoted by Guilty Boxing and to be held at the Green Valley Ranch Resort and Spa, Las Vegas, Nevada. In boxing, it’s all about fighters stepping up for the “test”, fighters that continually test themselves are the fighters that become champions, and they become fan favorites.
Exceptional fighters like Oscar DeLaHoya and Floyd Mayweather jr. are amongst the classy fighters that were willing to take the test. DeLaHoya fought for the WBO title in his 12th fight, and fought for the IBF title on his 18th. Mayweather Jr. fought for the WBC world title in his 18th fight. Both DeLaHoya and Mayweather went on to dominate boxing.
Pitalua a native of Columbia residing in Mexico City brings his top 10 ratings as well as his outstanding record of 39 wins to only 3 defeats winning 33 by knock out. Pitalua will be Camarena’s toughest test yet.
Camarena brings a little radiance to the table himself as the current WBC Continental Americas, WBC World Youth and WBC Intercontinental Mundo Hispano champion.
