What the fighters said Thursday:
“I'm going to tame the lion."
"l'm the best-kept secret in boxing. I'm going to take this one home and show everyone on national television who I am.’’
"Engel is a gentleman and a true athlete. He is a boxer and a kickboxer so I know he is skilled. I wish him 100 years success but this is my time. I'm privileged to fight on Showtime for the first time. This is my time to shine."
"If Edwin Rodriguez is looking past me, he's in for a whole world of trouble because I am going to win."
"I've had good training for this. It was a solid six-week camp, four weeks in Africa and the last two at the North Miami PAL Boxing Gym. Showtime boxing fans, be prepared. This fight is mine."
“I put all the hard work in and tomorrow night's my time to shine. It's my first time on national TV and I plan to take advantage of it."
