A serious rumor is abound that newly crowned WBA heavyweight champion James Toney has tested positive for a performance enhancing substance in the wake of his historic title winning effort. Toney took the WBA crown with a twelve round unanimous decision win over former to-time champion John Ruiz, who promptly retired from the sport. Ruiz recently indicated his intention to come back from his retirement to reclaim the world title he lost to Toney, an evermore realistic goal now as it would appear that if these charges against Toney hold water, he would be stripped of his title and the title would revert back to Ruiz, making him a three time world heavyweight champion.
SaddoBoxing.com will report all developments in this story as they happen.
