Former WBO bantamweight champion of the world Cruz Carbajal now faces an indefinite suspension from boxing since it was revealed that he tested positive for steroids in the wake of his bout with South African contender Silence Mabuza recently. Carbajal, of Vera Cruz, Mexico, has fought in the bantamweight, super bantamweight and flyweight divisions throughout his thirteen year career in which he has amassed twenty-five wins against thirteen losses and a draw. A win against Mabuza would have presented Carbajal with an opportunity to fight for the IBF bantamweight championship. Pending an investigation by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Carbajal will not be resuming his career anytime soon.
