Everyone has heard of the legendary second fight between "Sugar" Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran which ended with Duran saying "No Mas!" Well fight fans, on March 29, 2005, rising prospect Vicente "Chente" Escobedo made Heronimo "El Torito" Hernandez pull a "No Mas" after the third round in Laredo, Texas and, tonight, live from the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California, and televised on Telefutura's "Solo Boxeo" boxing series, he did it again. Escobedo's opponent, Oscar "El Gato Negro" Villa, pulled a "No Mas" after the second round, refusing to come out of the corner.
"Chente" showed a textbook jab as he painted Villa with it for two rounds. In the first, Escobedo even put Villa down with a stiff, hard, head-snapping jab that landed more like a power punch. Villa was game, but just could not get out of the way of any of "Chente's" offensive. Escobedo started to completely dominate the fight in the second round, busting up the Mexican with powerful combinations and would always go back to that beautiful jab. As the round ended, Oscar seemed discouraged, with his eyes swelling, and his nose bleeding. Villa would retire on his stool. Escobedo improves to 4-0-0 with 4 KOs.
