2000 Olympian Jose Navarro returned to the ring on Friday night for the first time sine his controversal loss to champion Katsushige Kawashima for the WBC super flyweight championship. In what many observers noted was a clear win for Navarro, the young Mexican-American was nonetheless denied the victory and given his first professional defeat. While in the wings for another crack at the title, Navarro kept busy by beating Miguel Del Valle on Friday night in San Antonio, Texas, USA. Navarro hurt Del Valle to the body and while recuperating, Del Valle indicated that he did not want to fight on, thus awarding a TKO victory to Navarro in the third round.
