Marquez Retains Over Vargas.

In one of the top attractions tonight at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, IBF bantamweight champion of the world successfully defended his title for the fifth time by posting a win over game Ricardo Vargas. The final scores were as follows: 118-109, 116-111, 116-111.

Vargas, though defeated becomes only the third man to survive to the end of a fight with Marquez. Vargas' record now falls to 37-11-3, while Marquez stands atop the bantamweight division with a sterling record of 34-3.
