Hatton Boxing: Lyon vs. Wale Added To February 26 Bolton Show

Craig Lyon is promising to grab the limelight when he makes the first defence of his English bantamweight title.

The undefeated St Helens scrapper puts his crown on the line against Barnsley’s Josh Wale in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Arena on Saturday night (26th Feb). Their ten rounder is the chief supporting bout to Stephen Foster Jr’s European super-featherweight title defence against Belgium’s Ermano Fegatilli, his mandatory contender.

Lyon said: “This will be a thriller and might even steal the show. We are two genuine prospects who want to fight the best. If I win this it will launch a TV career for me and Sky viewers are in for a treat.”

Lyon will be closing in on British champ Stuey Hall if he beats Wale and added: “I have faced journeymen and now I am stepping up in class. Josh Wale is the hardest fight of my career, but this will be the making of me.”

Former WBC super-middleweight champion Robin Reid makes a ring return on the bill when he boxes Jamie Ambler over four rounds. Unbeaten British Olympian Joe Murray faces his toughest test so far against Frenchman Daniel Kodjo Sassou who recently extended Scott Quigg

Others hopefuls on the undercard include Belarusian star Sergey Rabchenko tackles former Commonwealth light-middleweight champion Martin Concepcion, Kieron Maher faces Lester Walsh, Richard Towers meets Daniel Bispo, Adam Etches faces Estonian hopeful Aleksei Tsatiasivili , Dezzie Higginson boxes Robin Deakin and Jack Perry meet a selected opponent.
