WBA light flyweight world champion Roberto "The Spider" Vasquez will make the first defense of his championship against an opponent to be determind in his native Panama on August 8. Vasquez knocked out Beibis Mendoza in ten rounds to capture the WBA title in April of this year. To date, Vasquez has only one loss, that coming in his very first fight before going on to secure nineteen wins without interruption in his twenty-fight career. Vasquez's first title defense will happen before his home fans at the Gigali Convention Centre in Fort Amador, Panama City.
