Former WBO world middleweight champion Otis Grant fought once again in his adopted home of Montreal, Canada last night. Grant defeated Charles Adamu via the decision route and marked his sixth successive win since returning to boxing after a five year layoff in 2003. Grant has very few knockouts on his impressive professional ledger, so it was with some surprise that the Bell Center crowd witnessed him knocking Adamu down in the eighth round. The African fighter got to his feet though and continued to fight until the finish. With the win, Grant keeps his hopes of a title shot alive or the possibility of a match with fellow Quebecer and former world champion Eric Lucas.
