Northampton boxer – Jamie Spence out-pointed Nuneaton’s Kristian Laight to win the British Masters Light Welterweight Title. The First Team Promotions (Errol Johnson and PJ Rowson) show in Northampton – featured four bouts.

In Halle, Germany, Cheshunt Boxer – Ashley ‘Flash Ash’ Sexton won his six round Flyweight contest against Bulgarina Boxer – Salim Salimov by Unanimous Points Decision.

Lightweight Champion – John Murray took Karim El Ouazghari of Barcelona to points at the Frank Warren promoted fightnight at Bethnal Green’s York Hall. The Manchester Boxer who won by Unanimous Points decision was defending his European Lightweight Title for the second time.

On the same Bill, Billy Joe Saunders (Hatfield) forced a second round retirement of Turkish-born Turgay Uzun of Germany. And Ryan Walsh of Cromer scored a seventh round TKO over Gavin Reid of Redcar.

Liverpool Boxer – Derry Mathews won the English Lightweight Title when he scored a first round TKO over serving Soldier – Amir Unsworth of Sleaford on the Stephen Vaughan promoted Bill at Liverpool Olympia.

The Khan Promotions / Hatton Promotions/ Golden Boy promoted Fight-night at the MEN Arena on the 16th April has seen more changes this week. Following Leicester Boxer – Rendall Munroe’s switch to Promoter Hatton, the Boxing Binman will now face Andrei Isaeu of Belarus for the WBA International Super-Bantamweight Title.

Other Title fights include Amir Khan’s defence of the WBA World Light-Welterweight Title against Paul McCloskey; Craig Watson’s first defence of his British Welterweight Title against Lee Purdy, and Martin Murray v John Anderson Carvalho for Murray’s first Defence of the British Middleweight Title.

We also hear that Heavyweight Giant – Tyson Fury has been added to the Bill and will face former Heavyweight Champion – Hasim Rahman.

Barry Hearn / Matchroom Sport announced their first ‘Prizefighter International Heavyweights’ series recently and have now added Michael Sprott as the British Contender in this international tournament. Sprott is the current Prizefighter Heavyweights Champion having won the trophy in October last year.

The tournament takes place at London’s Olympia on May 7
