Former undisputed champion of the world Kostya Tszyu has worryingly disclosed that he suffered bruising to the brain and internal bleeding as a result of his fight with Ricky Hatton earlier this month. Speaking to "The Advertiser," Tszyu stated that he received results from a precautionary examination that revealed the extent of the physical damage he incurred during his brutal eleven round war with Hatton. The fight was stopped when Tszyu's trainer Johnny Lewis would not allow his man to continue, a sound decision in light of this development. Brain injury must be given thorough attention in all cases, and though Tszyu would not say that the problems occurred as a direct result of the fight, claiming other factors contributed also, matter such as these are always a cause for concern. Tszyu is expected to be able to fight again if he so wishes.
