It seems that everyone wants to see Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather in a boxing ring as soon as possible following Mayweather's convincing sixth round destruction of former WBC champion Arturo Gatti. Many felt that Mayweather's decreased physical presence at the higher weight of 140-pounds might prove to be a burden against stronger fighters such as Gatti. However, it was Mayweather who proved to be stronger, and faster and far too accurate with his slashing punches for Gatti to handle. The light welterweight division remains boxing's hottest division and Mayweather and Ricky Hatton are its top two fighters. Hatton's name was the first and only one called out by Mayweather following his impressive victory on Saturday, and Hatton, though full of praise for Mayweather, is full of confidence that he can defeat the American whizkid.
