Undisputed world welterweight champion Zab “Super” Judah has been nominated for an ESPY Award in the category of Best Boxer.
Judah earned this nomination after scoring a ninth-round technical knockout over Cory “The Next Generation” Spinks on Feb. 5 at the Savvis Center in St. Louis before the largest crowd to witness a boxing match at an indoor arena in history.
Judah disposed of International Boxing Federation mandatory challenger Cosme Rivera with a technical knockout in round three when they met at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 14.
The other nominees are: Diego Corrales, Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright. The winners will be announced on July 13 and are chosen by fans who can cast their votes by visiting the ESPY section at espn.com.
The ESPY Awards were created by ESPN in 1993. ESPY is an acronym for Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly.
An ESPY Awards preview show will air tonight on ESPN.
