USBA and NABF heavyweight champion and undefeated contender Samuel "The Nigerian Nightmare" Peter is seeking to get himself in the big title picture later this year. With the current status of Vitali Klitschko's WBC title defense this September still a mystery, Peter wants to leave no doubt whatsoever that he is ready to stand before the champion and challenge for the world championship. Peter knocked out Taurus Sykes on Saturday night in two rounds in yet another impressive showing of power. Many consider Peter as a legitimate contender for a championship fight and with Klitschko's mandatory Hasim Rahman fighting Monte Barrett later this year, Peter may skip the line and land a title shot.
We will keep you updated with developments in this situation as they happen.
