It is rumored that former multi-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao will make his return to the ring later this year with a fight against former featherweight titlist Kevin "The Flushing Flash" Kelley. Pacquiao very recently saw the back of legal troubles that eventually separated him from former promoter Murad Muhammad and is looking to return to the ring sicne his twelve round loss at the hands of Erik "El Terrible" Morales in March of this year. Kelley has made a name for himself outside of the ring recently by providing color commentary for ESPN as an in-studio analyst alongside Brian Kenny.
In the ring, Kelley provided fireworks in an unforgettable encounter with "Prince" Naseem Hamed back in 1997; Kelly dropped the prince in the first round and looked to be on the way to a sensational win before Hamed's power finally told and stopped Kelley in the fourth. In recent years, Kelley's ring appearances have not been successful as he has provided less than challenging obstacles for Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.
If this fight comes off, it will be southpaw vs. southpaw and power vs. power, but Pacquiao's youth and speed advantages will likely overpower the New Yorker early on.
