Former WBO middleweight champion Felix Sturm is one of many middleweights that will watch the confrontation between undisputed champion Bernard Hopkins and Jermain Taylor with great interest. Sturm first came to prominence with a twelve round decision loss to Oscar de la Hoya in 2004; a fight many felt he had won. Since that disputed decision, Sturm has kept very active with wins over Hacine Cherifi, Robert Frazier, Bert Schenk and most recently, Spaniard Jorge Sendra. Sturm remains one of the top middleweights in the world and will keenly anticipate a match with whomever emegres the winner between Hopkins and Taylor. However, if he is to catch the eye of the winner of July 16's battle, he will likely have to step out of the comfort zone of his native Germany.
Stay tuned to SaddoBoxing for confirmation of Sturm's next fight plus our exclusive coverage of the Hopkins-Taylor fight.
