Former British and European super middleweight champion Dean Francis returned to action over the weekend. The Basingstoke banger who has knocked out nineteen of twenty-three opponents faced off against Paul Bonson and took a six round decision. All in all, the result does not speak volumes of Francis at this point in time given that Bonson has lost on no less than seventy-eight occasions. However, Francis, at thirty-one-yars- old, might be able to reignite some of the attention and excitement he garnered whilst fighting in the late nineties. Francis's fights against David Starie, Cornelius Carr and Frederic Seillier were impressive demonstrations of his power, and if he can remain injury free, there's no telling how far he may go in terms of world title contention.
