Sam "The King" Soliman is one of Australia's leading fight stars but despit being the IBF's mandatory contender for some time, he has been unable to secure a spot in the title picture. Soliman has not lost a fight for three years and has maintained the IBF's Pan Pacific championship while in waiting for a genuine world title chance. The eyes of the boxing world will be on Las Vegas to see if Bernard Hopkins can evade defeat at the hands of Jermain Taylor, and if he can, Soliman will likely renew his pursuit of the aged champion in the hopes that a legitimate world title fight can be arranged with himself as the challenger. Until then, Soliman faces Fernando Zuniga on July 21 in California.
