Former cruiserweight champion Vassiliy Jirov will be back in the ring this month when he faces another notable former cruiserweight name in Orlin Norris. Jirov has two wins since being knocked out in nine rounds by former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer. Jirov once held the IBF cruiserweight title but lost it in a sensational battle with current heavyweight contender James Toney. Norris is a former WBA cruiserweight champion and has fought just about every name fighter in the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions over the last several years including Vitali Klitschko, Mike Tyson and Andrew Golota. Norris enters this bout off a loss to Albert Sosnowski. The fight will be held at the Palace Indian Gaming Center in California on the same night as Sam Soliman of Australia takes on Fernando Zuniga in a middleweight contest as previously reported.
