Mexico's WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel will indeed be in action this Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Montiel was set to defend his title against former world champion Eric Morel, but amid sexual assault accusations, Morel could not secure a license to fight in that state of Nevada. Therefore, the task of dethroning Montiel on short notice comes to Evert Briceno of Nicaragua. Briceno holds a record of twenty-one wins against two losses and he has knocked out seventeen of his career opponents. The fight will take place as a support attraction to this weekend's historic undisputed middleweight title fight between champion Bernard Hopkins and challenger Jermain Taylor.
SaddoBoxing will have all of the news and results live from the event as they happen.
