Vitali Klitschko is facing a lot of pressure throughout the boxing industry to defend his championship against Hasim Rahman. A back injury forced the postponement of Klitschko's proposed defense against Rahman earlier this year, and now that Rahman has decided to engage in a fight with fellow top contender Monte Barrett, Klitschko is without an opponent for his September fight. Although Klitschko is mandated to defend his championship against the winner of the Rahman-Barrett fight coming up on August 13, it remains a mystery as to who will challenge Klitschko for the title this September. Main Events' havyweight contender Calvin Brock's name increasingly surfaces as a possible opponent and Brock is set to hold a teleconference call to discuss exactly why he should be allowed to fight Klitschko for the title.
As soon as SaddoBoxing receives the official word on the opponent for Klitschko this September, you will know too. Stay tuned.
