Reports are that former light heavyweight title challenger Paul Briggs of Australia will receive another crack at a world title. Further to that, Briggs is buoyed by the fact that he will be trained for future contests by legendary Australian coach Johnny Lewis, the man that took former two-time light welterweight champion Kostya Tszyu to the top of the boxing world. Briggs lost out by decision earlier this year to current WBC light heavyweight champion Tomasz Adamek of Poland on the same night that Andrew Golota was blown away in a single round by Lamon Brewster for the WBO heavyweight title. Briggs acknowledged a sound defeat at the hands of the Pole but will likely be back with a vengeance, and with Johnny Lewis in his corner, the best may yet be to come for "The Hurricane."
