It looks as if former middleweight title contender Howard Eastman of England's days of world championship level fighting are over after he lost once again, bringing his record to forty wins against three losses. Eastman's only previous losses were to William Joppy and Bernard Hopkins, but on Saturday night in Germany, he was out-pointed unanimously by young Armenian fighter Arthur Abraham over twelve rounds. The final scores were close on two cards with verdicts of 115-113 and 116-112 in Abraham's favor, while one card seemed out of sync with a 119-111 score. In other action, former IBO super middleweight titlist Brian Magee lost a twelve round split decision to Ukrainian Vitali Tsypko for the right to face the IBF super middleweight champion, whomever that may be by the time current champion Jeff Lacy and next challenger Robin Reid have fought next month.
