In keeping busy before his next title defense, WBA lightweight champion Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz knocked out Arthur Cruz in five rounds in Los Angeles, USA. Diaz had already knocked Cruz out once, in four rounds some years before becoming the WBA champion. The undefeated champion now has twenty-eight wins with fourteen knockouts to his credit and remains in the running for a unification fight with one of the other lightweight champions.
