Golden Boy Promotions released information today indicating that undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins and legendary six-weight world champion Oscar de la Hoya are set to make a major announcement this |
Tuesday November 16th. Hopkins knocked De La Hoya out with a left hook to the body in their historic fight on September 18th. Hopkins apparently has to honor a mandatory engagement with British middleweight Howard Eastman but nothing yet is set in stone while De La Hoya is still considering his career options after being beaten by Hopkins, his first career stoppage loss. With both careers in apparent limbo, it has to be wondered whether or not the two men are planning a second lucrative match for the New Year.
The announcement will be made at a press luncheon at 11:30am this coming Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton hotel Versailles Room 9876 Wilshire Blvd Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
