Bernard Hopkins’ appeal of his split decision loss of the undisputed world middleweight championship to Jermain Taylor last Saturday has been denied by the Nevada Athletic Commission. Hopkins had hoped to have himself reinstated as the middleweight champion on the basis of a fault in the adjudication of the fight that saw one judge score the final round for Taylor when it appeared clear that Hopkins won all of the final three rounds. Hopkins would have a draw and still be the champion in that case. A rematch between Jermain Taylor and Bernard Hopkins is likly to happen by November or December of this year.
