"Amazing" Alex Arthur is now the British, Commonwealth and European super featherweight champion; an historic achievement for himself and Scottish boxing. Arthur outpointed former Russian champion Boris Sinitsin to claim the championship with final judges' scores of 119-108, 119-108 and 118-109. Arthur's only loss came in a war against Michael Gomez who has since dropped off the boxing landscape since suffering another shock loss earlier this year. A rematch with Gomez may not now be on the cards and the ever-advancing Arthur might touch fringe world honors by the end of the year.
