Golden Boy East's inaugural show went off with a bang at the Borgata in Atlantic City last night with every bout on the card except one ending by a stoppage. The headline fight was a cracker with unbeaten light welterweight Demetrius Hopkins schooling awkward pressure artist Paul Delgado, although not without some difficulty, before the lanky Philadelphia boxer uncorked a beautiful counter left hook to stop his aggressive antagonist in the eighth. In the co-feature, welterweight Larry Mosley put on a boxing clinic and pounded foe Alexis Division's midsection until the Dominican tourist was saved by the referee in the fourth. On the under-card, British light middleweight Matthew Macklin belted journeyman Leo Laudat from one side of the ring to the other before the proceedings were halted in the third. In other bouts, 2004 Olympian Rock Allen outslugged big hearted Damon Antoine to earn a first round stoppage at light welterweight and Max Alexander fought to a four round majority draw with fellow combatant Alfred Kinsey while Phillip Marquez opened the show by hammering John Huskey to the body en route to a first round stoppage that took all of twenty-four seconds to produce.
