John Still the WBA Featherweight Champion.

By Boxing Press August 8th, 2005 All Press Releases

"Indonesian Thin Man" Chris John is still the WBA's featherweight champion after scoring a technical knockout after nine rounds on home soil this past weekend. John remains undefeated at thirty-six wins with one draw and twenty knockouts. Australian Browne suffered his third loss; one was to WBC featherweight champion In Jin Chi of Korea. Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez retains the moniker of unified WBA/IBF featherweight champion granting John the regular title under the "super champion" regulation. In his previous fight, John took a decision over former champion Derrick Gainer. We will see if at just twenty-five, John can become involved in the exciting mix of the featherweight division at present.
