In the Main Event, local celebrity and fan favorite Super Middleweight Bo “Hands of War” Gibbs, Jr., from Maysville, Oklahoma will fight rough and rugged Willie Bryant from Conway, Arkansas in a six round bout.
catBOX fighter Gibbs, now 5-0 with 3 KOs to his credit, is a former NABC National Golden Glove Champion whose goal is to dominate and conquer his weight division in the pros.
Trained by his father, Pastor Bo Gibbs, who was also a successful boxer in his day, Gibbs has a crowd pleasing, exciting and aggressive style, while his opponent “Old School” Bryant, who has four tough fights under his belt, is a methodical, technical puncher with skills trained the old school way.
On the undercard, several heavyweight match ups will take place. Former Tough Woman National Champion, Paula, “the Native Knockout” Soap (1-0, 1 KO) from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, will fight two time U.S. Muay Thai Champ Taren Pennell out of Irving, Texas.
Pennell will be making her pro debut as a professional boxer. Former Blazer’s Hockey player Ron “the Iceman” Aubrey (11-3, 11 KOs), is also scheduled to fight. The Iceman’s opponent is TBA.
Darren DeLaune, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, will be stepping into the pro boxing ring for the first time to fight another pro debut fighter, Tim “TNT” Bronson . DeLaune has boxed in several exhibitions and is trained by B.J. Waggonor. Bronson trains out of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
On the considerably lighter side, two featherweight bouts are scheduled. Vicente Hernandez (2-1, 2 KOs), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will fight in a four round bout. Tiffany Gimmey, who trains out of Conan’s Boxing, Kickboxing Gym in Norman, Oklahoma, a former champion kick boxer, will also fight in a four round fight.
Also on the card, Light Heavyweight Trevor McCumby (5-0, 5 KOs), out of Glendale, Arizona and Super Middleweight Ronald Ellis (3-0, 3 KOs), Miami Florida, will each fight in four round bouts. Other fights and/or fighters to be announced soon.
As always, a catBOX night of professional boxing is a complete, world class event with exceptional boxing, beautiful ring girls by Tabb Models, great food provided by Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel and Spa and an exciting atmosphere.
Also scheduled Fight Night is a special Color Guard presentation and National Anthem before the Main Event to be performed by singer Darla Z and a pre-bout dance prior to the Soap/Pennel fight by the Cherokee Nation Fancy Dancers. Darla Z is the star of a TV music special Darla Z Live From Las Vegas which aired nationally on January 12, 2012 and will air again on PBS at 8:00 p.m. central time on June 23, 2012.
