Illinois’ Heavyweight contender, Mike Mollo (20-3-1, 12 KOs), will step in the ring to challenge Riverside California’s, Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola (35-2, 30 KOs), on the undercard of the Victor Ortiz vs. Joseito Lopez fight, taking place at the Staples Center on June 23, 2012. The 10-round bout will open the Showtime telecast portion of their scheduled triple-header.
“I’m ready to go to war against Arreola,” said Mollo. “This is a big opportunity for me to show the boxing world that I have something left in the tank. The fans are going to see an exciting fight with a lot of action. I’m coming to upset Arreola in his hometown.”
“Mike Mollo has a great chance to shine on a big stage,” said his promoter Mario Yagobi of Boxing 360. “Opportunity’s like this don’t come around too often and I know he’s going to make the best of it. I see an exciting fight with a lot of fireworks happening with Mollo and Arreola. It’s going to be fun to watch.”
