Boulder Hosts “Warriors Conquest” Fight Card June 30

A welterweight showdown between two sensational young prospects headlines the show as hometown favorite Raul “EL Chino” Carrillo, 9-1-0 (6KO’s) and Josh “Pitbull” Torres, 7-1-1 (4KO’s) of Albuquerque, New Mexico clash.
A winner of his first nine bouts, six by knockout, 28-year-old Carrillo is coming off the biggest fight of his young career, a ten round challenge of Robert Frankel on February 17th in Sheridan, Colorado.
Despite the battle being his first professional bout scheduled past six rounds, Carrillo fought evenly with the much more experienced Frankel. Challenging for the WBC United State Junior Welterweight Title, Carrillo dropped a hard fought decision by scores of 97-93, 98-92 and 99-91.
A staple in the highly New Mexico boxing scene, the 22 year old Torres is riding a two bout winning streak, most recently scoring a second round knockout of Carlos Sanchez on March 31st at the Hard Rock in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Rounding out the action packed card are seven bouts featuring the finest area prospects in four round bouts.
In the lightweight division Raymond Nichol, 3-0-1 (2KO’s) of Denver, Colorado will battle Justin Danley, 0-4-0, also of Denver. Welterweights will see action as Denver’s Alfredo Romero, 3-1-0 (3KO’s) will face off against Chris Russell, 2-10-1 (1KO), of Shattuck, Oklahoma.
In the junior middleweight class, pro debuting Nathaniel Hicks of Colorado Springs, Colorado, will challenge Nazareth Rojas, 6-5-1 (2KO’s), of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Denver natives Marco Moreno and Elan Simon will both be making their pro debut in a lightweight tilt. Super middleweights will be represented as pro debuting Jeffrey Spencer of Colorado Springs will battle Denver’s Shane Moore, 1-0-0 (1KO).
Junior welterweights will clash as Daniel Calzada, 3-3-2 (1KO) of Dora Ana, New Mexico faces pro debuting Ronnie Reams of Colorado Springs. In the middleweight division veteran Allen Medina, 9-20-1 (1KO), of Denver, Colorado, will return to action against an opponent to be announced.
