Michael “Rocky’ Katsidis kept his perfect record intact with a 5th round TKO over Ranee Ganoy on Friday night at Brisbane’s Convention and Exhibition Centre. In victory Katsidis retains the WBO Asia Pacific Lightweight Championship.
Ganoy was brave but in the end was completely outgunned by the power punching Australian. Down in round two, the Filipino was hanging tough before referee Chris Daley mercifully called a halt to the bout in round five. Katsidis was leading 38-37 on two of the three scorecards and was ahead 39-36 on the third.
With the win, Katsidis moves to 18-0 with 16 KO’s, and his stock among the worlds lightweight contenders continues to rise.
