Middleweight Etches Heading For Eubank Jr Collision?

By Boxing Press October 24th, 2012 All Press Releases

Hatton Promotions middleweight prospect Adam Etches is looking towards a showdown with fellow unbeaten hopeful Chris Eubank Jr.

The Sheffield kid bids to make it a perfect ten wins as a professional at Manchester Arena on Saturday November 24 on the blockbuster Ricky Hatton-Vyacheslav Senchenko bill.

Etches, 21, who hopes to learn who his opponent will be in the next few days said: “The number of people already saying that they want to see Eubank Jr and me fight is unbelievable. Everybody is talking about it.

“I like to do my talking in the ring, but I do believe I would knock him out because he doesn’t look too hard to hit. I don’t think that Eubank Jr is particularly strong, but he’s talented, has got fast hands and is a good boxer.

“I have come on leaps and bounds in the Ingle gym and I have got to make sure I keep improving. I have always known I can fight, but my boxing is improving all the time. Hopefully I will get that fight down the line.”

Although Hatton’s first fight in three-and-a-half years has grabbed global attention, the sellout crowd will see a top class undercard.

There is world title action when Scott Quigg (24-0-1) meets Rendall Munroe (24-2-1) in a vacant interim WBA super-bantamweight title return match. Their summer showdown ended in a technical draw after three rounds because of Munroe’s cut right eye.

Sergey Rabchenko (21-0) defends his European light-middleweight crown against Frenchman Cedric Vitu (35-1), Martin Murray (24-0-1) will feature in a major contest and Gary Buckland (26-2) risks his British super-featherweight title against local idol Stephen Foster Jr (30-3-1).

Also in action are Hatton Promotions hopefuls James Dickens (12-0) and Scott Jenkins (6-0).
