Tickets are moving fast for the September 24, 2005, Samuel Peter vs. Wladimir Klitschko/Miguel Cotto vs. Gianluca Branco Boardwalk Brawl event at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
As of Friday, August 26, over 6000 of the 12,000 available seats had already been sold. "It's unbelievable!!! Tickets have been available for less than three weeks and in the laziest part of the dog days of summer. Who would have known that these tickets would be moving like this," said event promoter Dino Duva of Duva Boxing (in association with Top Rank and K-2 Promotions). These sales figures are proving that this is a terrific fight for boxing fans and also that Atlantic City is a major player for big-time boxing.
Anticipation is already at an incredible high for this intriguing heavyweight war. "It's the most anticipated fight in the heavyweight division this year," agreed Klitschko trainer Emanuel Steward. "I just did an HBO broadcast in Chicago and everybody is talking about it. This fight is creating excitement."
Tickets for Boardwalk Brawls - Samuel Peter vs. Wladimir Klitschko box-off for the IBF and WBO's number-one contenderships, as well as WBO Super Lightweight champion Miguel Cotto's title defense against Gianluca Branco are still available at TicketMaster. They are priced between $50 and $400.
The very special undercard for the most hotly anticipated boxing event of the year will be announced later this week.
