Chris Arreola vs. Bermane Stiverne: The Show Must Go On!

Excellent news fight fans; the featured undercard attraction of the now canceled Andre Ward vs. Kelly Pavlik clash will hold the show on March 2nd from the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California as United States of America and Canada face off in a thrilling Heavyweight title eliminator between Chris Arreola (35-2-0 30 KO’s) and Bermane Stiverne (22-1-0 20 KO’s). This bout will headline a triple-header.

Goosen Tutor promotions was disappointed concerning the nullified WBA/WBC world title fight between their most illustrious signee Ward and the heavy-handed former world champion Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik. This was a lucky break that they stabilized this planned triple-header and retained HBO television coverage on Boxing After Dark.

The first planned fight of the evening will be an intriguing world title rematch between IBF Super Featherweight belt holder Juan Carlos Salgado (26-1-1 16 KO’s) of Mexico and talented Dominican Argenis Mendez (20-2-0 10 KO’s). Their first fight was a barnburner in Mexico, making this a luxurious addition to the bill and a solid American television debut for both.

The main event between Arreola and Stiverne is an eliminator for a world title shot against Ukrainian great Wladimir Klitschko. Both men are known for brutal power and their super-strong physiques. Expect a war out there for the long awaited contest.

One more fight will be added to this juicy bill. Be sure to tune in on HBO! Tickets are still currently available.
