Rival UK promoters to Frank Warren might be set to stage a massive catch in their favor as it is rumored that they have secured the signature, for one fight at least, of IBF light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton. Wrangling over the promotional status of Hatton has become intense as Warren has sought to exert stipulations that he says tie him and Hatton together by contract for the next three Hatton fights. however, there is a contrasting argument given from the Hatton's that in beating Kostya Tszyu in June of this year, Hatton became a free agent promotionally, and the Hatton camp understandably opened talks with some of the major American promoters. Furthermore, Hatton's younger brother Matthew will not now appear on a Sport's Network card as planned, instead, he is booked to fight on a promotion presented by Fight Academy. WBA light welterweight champion is the most highly-touted opponent for Hatton at this stage.
